George Henry Hogg "was admitted to the membership of the
Ancient Society of College Youths in 1887, and was
connected with the Plumstead area. This entry was noted in
case it was of use in the future as ringers from the S. of
London crossed the
river to ring peals in churches in the London Diocese which
is N. of the river.".
The above "Ancient Society---" was established in 1637.
When he married Emily Maria Long in 1885 he was "24,
Bachelor, Labourer, of Plumstead, son of Robert Samuel
Hogg, Deceased, labourer". Witnesses were Robert William
Long and Alice Adelaide Long, and the bride's father Robert
Beck Long, coach
painter was not described as deceased.Witnesses
were:-Robert William Long and Alice Adelaide Long.

Raydon Road, Plumstead, and 23 Sand Street, Woolwich,
respectively. Possibly former was his son?
In 1901 Census of Woolwich RG13/568/ fol. 36 p.15 George,
Stella and family are at 23 Sand Street, Woolwich. Children
were George H.12 bn. Plumstead, Rose E. 11 bn. Plumstead,
Flora S. 3 bn. Plumstead, and Ivy Z, 11 mos. bn.Woolwich.
The Hoggs
shared 23 Sand Street with Richard Allen, his wife, and
daur.
In 1910 George Henry Hogg shown as living at 65 Haworth
Road, Plumstead.
In 1913 and 1920 Directories also listed at 65 Haworth
Road, Plumstead.
.Wrote his will, very brief and on standard will form, 21
June 1930, making his wife Stella sole executrix and sole
beneficiary .Witnesses were George Edward Brice of 54 Ann
Street, Plumstead, and William Thomas Freelove of 118
Lakedale Road.
